Title - Economical - Zero Liquid Discharge of a Textile Unit

Abstract - Textile industry is one of the most imperative industries in India and is also one of the major consumers of water (Average Consumption - 14 lakh liters per day). Treatment of this water is of utmost importance to maintain ecological balance. Textile wastewater is a mixture of effluents from various processes. In addition to this, the Central Government, on 22nd October 2015, has drafted a notification that has directed every large scale textile industry to strictly follow ZLD norms. Thus, keen focus has been laid on transforming each textile unit into an ideal yet economical ZLD. This project is an attempt to transform this indigenous industry in India to an ideal yet economical Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) using basic fundamentals of engineering, management and natural sciences.
